To tell you a bit more about how this website came to be, a little foreword.
It all started with the arrival of the digital camera.
My first digital camera was an ‘ Olympus c-800 L’, which was a great device at the time. Almost simultaneous the internet arrived on the market, first of course with a 28K modem, later the World Wide Web as we know it. A bit later on I started building my first website because I loved the idea of putting pictures on the net for everyone to enjoy. A subject was not hard to find because at that time we still had a sailing boat.
Sailing has been in my life as long as I can remember. When I was tree years old my dad bought a tugboat, Adja, to go fishing (which we all loved). Later my father started building a Catamaran together with his four sons (Frank, Rene, Marc and Danny). It was launched in 1972 at Hoboken and we had some great adventures with it.
In 1987 the steel yacht ‘Narai’ (Bruce Roberts 13.20m and 4.10m) was built. I helped build it with my own two hands and we’ve also had some unforgettable journeys with it.
In the meantime photography became more and more a hobby and I bought a more sophisticated camera: a Fuji 6900.
The boat was sold in 2003 and simultaneously I sold my Fuji to buy a better and more powerful camera: the Fuji S2 pro.
Now we’re in the year 2005 and I bought a second camera, the Nikon D-70 This entirewebsite is based on pictures I took with those last two cameras.
Enjoy!
